“The Lit League” Book Club, Starting with “Hunger: A Memoir”

the lit league - a book club on disability intersections
hey, the book club is back!

Re-starting the Book Club, y’all.

Because I have a thing for “federations” and “alliances” and “leagues”, I went ahead and called it “The Lit League”, with a focus on intersections with disability. That means, it won’t need to directly be about disability, but all the books we read and talk about will have an intersection with disability.

I have it set to meet once a month online (in person is also a possibility in addition to online, but definitely online).

It’ll be fun!

Sign on up on Goodreads (all free, of course).

The first book is “Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body” by Roxane Gay.

Why? Because it’s already got so many of us in the disability community buzzing. This book is not directly about disability, but there are intersections that a lot of us want to talk about. Let’s do it.

This book should be easy to get your hands on. It’s available for free in public libraries, linked here on Amazon (which also includes Kindle and Audible for those who listen to their books) and on Barnes & Noble (includes Nook).

Timeline:

Start reading on August 5th, one month to read it. More info on the online discussions in 2 weeks (if you join the Goodreads club, you’ll receive automatic notifications, easiest way to go); we all discuss on Sept. 5.

Sound good? Thanks, I love you too 🙂
