Interlude: Haircuts (Photo Essay)

The kids get haircuts - here are the photos and quick-story for a little interlude this morning

Moxie’s got a thing for scissors and cutting her own hair. Remember when she found the scissors in Helena’s place in New York last summer?! Yeah. Well, she found some scissors from school in her backpack and went to town with her locks.

No one rocks an asymmetrical cut like this chica. But school pictures were coming up and thought it might be kind of nice to trim everyone’s hair on up:

I’m adding “hair dresser” to the list of Moxie’ future career possibilities. Okay, that made me think of Ruby’s Rainbow, and now I need to share the link with you in case you haven’t heard of it yet – it’s a scholarship fund for furthering the education of adults with Down syndrome – here it is, and it’s awesome!

Mack wanted his hair trimmed.

Mack’s reasons for his wanting his hair cut were practical: he doesn’t like to wash or brush his hair.

I love being able to see his face again!

My mom and I took them to Scoops for ice-cream after – Moxie was mad –

“Moxie! Why are you mad?!”
