I’m a nerdy bookworm, so this entire site could easily be on book reviews!
When I was a kid, I would read until my eyes hurt – probably typical for a third-culture kid (or any kid, for that matter) growing up in the 80’s in Fiji, where there was no TV. I literally got in trouble for reading too much (here’s a post about my favorite books when I was a kid).
My habit has continued. Just as it was when I was a kid, I read for fun, never because I have to. I don’t read things I’m not interested in, so a lot of what I read has to do with disability – a subject that I never cease to be fascinated by.
As a career counselor, I love books related to careers, including the intersections between career and space. I love figuring out how people tick (or tock), what drives and moves us. I love social change.
You’ll find a lot of book reviews below. I ask trusted buddies to write book reviews or collections sometimes – not just for your sake, but for my own; for new ideas on what to reach for in the library or on Amazon.
Speaking of Amazon: yes, there are affiliate links in the reviews. I do appreciate you using them, because aside from Patreon, they are the only ways that this blog gets economically fueled. I will literally not be able to continue with this if I can’t help support my family. It’s no extra cost to you at all, so thank you for using them!
If you have ideas on other books to review, if you’d like to review a book for my site, or if you are a publisher who would like me to review a book you are promoting, please use the contact form at the bottom of this page.
