[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The book club is back, and we’re set to read Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justice by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha.
Care Work
We looked through all of the books we could think of, and all recommended by others in the Lit League, and only polled the books that were both fully physically accessible and economically accessible (available on the library’s Overdrive system).
Care Work received the most votes, and it looks like a great read.
I’ve set up a calendar for this site to keep track of all the stuff that’s going on.

Care Work: Timeline:
- 3 weeks to get the book and read it
- Discussion on Facebook. No more twitter chats!
- We will invite the author to come and talk about it with us, either through Skype Chat or Zoom.
Please, Please, Please:
Remember that Rae & I are both working moms with little kids and we are doing this because we want to learn about things disability-related and help create a space for cross-disability discussion and dialogue. We do not have a lot of time on our hands and of course we don’t make money doing any of this.
PLEASE: If times that we are setting up don’t work for you, or if you prefer a different way of doing something, please speak up in the group. We don’t want to spend a lot of energy and precious time setting up something that no-one comes to because the time doesn’t work for them! LET US KNOW WHAT WORKS or what you want!
If you don’t want to be part of this group, please just remove yourself from it: no need to stay if you aren’t going to play!
