Tips that will Help you to Eat Well when you Hate Healthy Foods

If you want to eat healthily then you will know exactly what you need to do. You have to eat more vegetables, drink water and workout. If you don’t like healthy food however then this can become an issue. Every day might be a struggle, and you may even find that you never end up sticking to your diet because of this.

Don’t Cut Food out of your Diet

Most people think that eating healthily means cutting out the food that you love. This isn’t the case at all. Eliminating your favourite dishes will make you go back to all of your old habits, not to mention that it will make it harder for you to stick to your diet. If you want to get around this, then you need to make a habit of adding healthy ingredients to your recipes instead. If you cannot begin the day without having peanut butter on toast then instead, enjoy it with some vegetable juice or even a smoothie if you want. If you can’t stop having pizza for dinner, don’t opt for a meat version. Instead, have vegetables as the topping instead. Being healthy doesn’t mean cutting out the food you want, instead, it means taking the time to make healthier choices and the sooner you start doing this, the healthier you will be.

Flavour

One of the misconceptions about healthy food is that you have to eliminate flavour. You don’t have to do this, and it is more than possible for you to have great tasting food without adding a ton of extra calories. One way for you to do this would be for you to add some spices or even some seasoning. You can do this on roasted vegetables if you want, and before you know it, you have turned a meal that would normally be boring into something really delicious. Don’t just opt for salt and pepper either, because you can easily use cumin, coriander, chilli powder or even cinnamon in some cases. Sure, you might think that it is much easier for you to buy sauces and oils from the store, but they can contain a lot of things that are bad for you. They can also contain a ton of added sugar as well, and this is the last thing that you need when you are working so hard to try and be healthy. You also need to drink way more water as well if you are trying to be healthy. If you don’t then your body won’t be as hydrated as it could be, and this could also cause you problems. If you feel as though water is too bland then why not think about trying some flavored water?

Use Different Cooking Methods

If you think that you hate a certain food, then there is a high chance that you have always cooked it the same way. If you hate Brussels sprouts, but you have always had them steamed then why not try them roasted? Put them with some cranberries and some chestnuts, or toss them with some pancetta and parmesan. Little things like this can make a huge difference to how you see a dish, not to mention that it can also make it way easier for you to love the foods that you once hated. If you want to make things easier on yourself then you should try and prepare all of your foods and your vegetables ahead of time. This will make them much easier to eat and you may even find that it helps you to get the motivation you need as well.

Desserts

Do you have a sweet tooth? Maybe you can’t say no to dessert. Either way, there are so many dessert options out there that are actually healthy. First, you need to try and rely on home-cooked desserts instead of the ones that you can buy in the store. The main reason for this is because you can control how much sugar is in it. You can also incorporate things like cashew nuts as well, as this can add another element of sweetness. Superfoods are easy for you to have in your diet, and you would be surprised at how helpful they can be to your overall health. Of course, if you find it difficult to get some ideas then it is very easy for you to look up recipes and when you do this, you can easily see new ingredients that you would have never thought of using.
